The fall rugby competition will take the format of a round robin league structure. There will be three leagues, men’s competitive, men’s social and women’s 10 a-side. The two men’s leagues will consist of normal 15-a-side rules and the women’s league will be 10-a-side.
Games will begin 16th September and finish 21st October with a Super Saturday of rugby and grand finale at the Calgary Rugby Union. All players involved in the leagues MUST be registered with Rugby Canada to play.
In order to ensure 100% club participation throughout the fall season there will be no play-offs and the winner of each league will be determined by the total points accumulated from league play. Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the winners of each league.
In addition to the fall league, two Old Boys/Old Girls festivals will take place over the fall period if numbers permit.
The following will be outline for the fall league competition including prizes:
A 6 or 8 team single round robin competition (2006 KOKANEE LEAGUE CUP)
Teams will be permitted to nominate 25 players and substitute up to ten players.
A 6 or 8 team single round robin competition (2006 LABATTS LEAGUE TROPHY)
Maximum of 25 player’s with unlimited substitutions.
A 6 or 8 team single round robin competition (2006 BUDWEISER CUP)
Maximum of 17 players per game with unlimited substitutions
2006 rules and regulations will apply with only a few changes to allow for the fall structure to take place. All clubs will be notified of these changes prior to the commencement of the fall program
In the interest of maximum participation the following will apply.
IF A CLUB CHOSES NOT TO ENTER A TEAM A PLAYER FROM THAT CLUB WILL BE PERMITTED TO PLAY FOR ANOTHER CLUB IN THE FALL SEASON. ALL LOAN REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE CALGARY RUGBY UNION PRIOR TO THE COMENCMENT OF A GAME.
Deadline for a club to register teams is Friday, August 18, 2006.
